Role responsibilities

The responsibilities attributed to the role include:

  • preparing income tax returns and computations for both corporate entities and individuals.
  • preparing DDT10 exemptions, shareholder registrations, dividend warrants, and income tax refund claim forms.
  • providing assistance to clients in connection with provisional tax payments.
  • assisting with tax advisory assignments and income tax publications on an ad hoc basis.
  • liaising with the tax authorities on tax matters as may be required.
  • maintaining a good understanding of the changing tax environment, both locally and internationally.

Educational and skill requirements

The candidates we are looking for should ideally:

  • possess a qualification or be enrolled with a recognised body, such as ACCA or the Malta Institute of Taxation (MIT), in an accounting or taxation course. The MIT Award in Taxation is considered an asset.
  • possess previous work experience within a similar role.
  • possess a good level of understanding of accounting principles and Malta’s tax system.
  • possess proficiency in Microsoft applications (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • possess strong communication (verbal and written) skills in English, with proficiency in Maltese considered an asset, and knowledge of other languages positively regarded.
