Role responsibilities
The responsibilities attributed to the role include:
- assisting in the preparation of income tax returns and computations for both corporate entities and individuals.
- assisting in the preparation of DDT10 exemptions, shareholder registrations, dividend warrants, and income tax refund claim forms.
- assisting clients in connection with provisional tax payments.
- maintaining a good understanding of the changing tax environment, both locally and internationally.
Educational and skill requirements
The candidates we are looking for should ideally:
- be enrolled with a reputable education institution, such as the University of Malta, or a recognised body such as ACCA or the Malta Institute of Taxation (MIT), in an accounting or taxation course.
- possess an introductory-level understanding of accounting principles and Malta’s tax system.
- possess proficiency in Microsoft applications (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- possess strong communication (verbal and written) skills in English, with proficiency in Maltese considered an asset, and knowledge of other languages positively regarded.
